History

Parshall HomeEstablished in 2002, Langhans Funeral Homes, Inc. is proud to be a family owned and operated business serving the Heart of Lake Sakakawea, including the communities of New Town, Parshall, Plaza and Makoti.  It is our goal to meet the needs of each family we serve.  Both Paul and Justina are licensed funeral directors in North Dakota. We are located on the south end of Main Street in Parshall and on Eagle Drive in New Town.

Carol and Jim Johnson operated the Johnson Funeral Home in New Town and Parshall from the mid-seventies until 2002.  They retired to the Minnesota area where their sons now operate funeral homes.

The Williamsons (Helen Jean and Wade Sr.) operated the funeral home in Parshall prior to the Johnson's.  In 1941, Hankins Funeral Home came into existence and by 1946 it became Hankins-Williamson.  (Helen's maiden name was Hankins.)  It was operated in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hankins.  By 1961, Parshall Dairyland was converted to Williamson Funeral Home after extensive remodeling.  This remains the current location of the funeral home in Parshall.
